Dr. Esther M. Gallagher’s areas of practice include medical malpractice, professional negligence, product liability, and all catastrophic personal injuries.
Esther is admitted to practice law before the Bars of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Florida, as well as before the Federal Court in the Northern District of New York and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Esther is a 1994 Juris Doctor cum laude graduate of Syracuse University College of Law. She is also a 1972 Doctor of Medicine graduate from Hahnemann Medical College [now known as Drexel University] in Philadelphia. Esther’s undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the University of Delaware in 1968. Esther is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Esther practiced Family Medicine for 19 years. She maintained Board Certification in Family Practice, with an added certificate in Geriatrics. Esther served on staff at the 3 Utica, New York area hospitals, where she also acted as a preceptor teaching residents, chair of her Family Practice department, and chair of the Quality Assurance and Risk Management Committee. This experience as a quality reviewer has been invaluable to her in the evaluation of medical negligence cases.
Esther’s unique dual degree status in medicine and law has been invaluable to her practice in representing clients who have been injured as a result of medical malpractice. The medical expertise which she brings to her cases is an overwhelming advantage to her and to other members of the firm.
