Posted on May 26th, 2009 No Comments

LASIK eye surgery has become more and more popular since its introduction in 1998. However, because of the way it is portrayed, people often forget that it is a surgery which carries with it certain dangers.

Approximately 28% of all LASIK  surgeries have had to be reoperated because of issues with the first surgery. Common problems can include blurred vision, double vision, cornea scarring and sensitivity to light among others.

If you or someone you know has been injured in a LASIK surgery, contact the Pennsylvania medical malpractice attorneys of Lowenthal & Abrams at 215-329-3511.

Military Medical Malpractice Bill Passes in Subcommittee

Posted on May 19th, 2009 No Comments

A bill to allow military personnel to sue for medical malpractice has passed in the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law. It will now go on to the full House Judiciary Committee.

Currently, military personnel are unable to sue for medical malpractice because of a set of rulings from 1950. As a result of those rulings, the medical care in the military has been lax and has caused many avoidable injuries.

If you or someone you know has been injured by medical malpractice, contact the Pennsylvania medical malpractice attorneys of Lowenthal & Abrams at 215-329-3511.
